Oldies vs Current

Apologizes for the break in transmission. I was on a family vacation; celebrating my parents birthday. And my laptop and Ipad was ruefully discarded.
We’re resuming with a rattling issue everyone loves and virtually cant do without. And what's it?
Music.
I prefer oldies to the new generational music streamed out nowadays. As I believe oldies carry more significance.
So, my beloved readers; what’s your preference in regards to the songs of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s; to those played in recent times.

  2. All songs have their different inspiration. Oldies lifts the spirit and puts you in the mood(don't ask wat mood) lol. While new school has to do with dance dance dance. (Computer age kind of music).

    3. Crazy might be but doesn't show up or is it when you're listening to Enya's or Celine Dion's or Bob Marley's or Lucky Dube's that you will have the time to listen to crazy ones, it can't be, but the issue is that we don't have musicians like these heroes anymore

  7. I feel its not about music being oldies or the new school, even back in the days there were songs that were really not so good in terms of content...All i look out for in songs are inspiration and if i can get that,i do not care what era it is from...Lobatan

  8. Music has been since the time of early men, it starts from shouts of accidents/hazards and chirping of birds and it begins to grow to what it is today. As the world grows, all things that it constitutes changes, music of 15th century is different from that of 18th century and likewise as that if the 20th century is different from this 21st century, so inspirations of musics in the Music Industry flows as the world is and the Music Industry produce what the time wants and with the acceptance of those born into that time and not with the interest of those that live before that time

    2. Whether its oldies or newbies, the key elements in this discus are significance, relevance and impact.

The oldies had their time and impact in the life of its listeners. Fast forward to many years after, they are still relevant today and have a significant part in people's Life. Take the newbies and in a short time, or shortest possible time, they haven't had their own impact in the life of mostly children and youths and less of the adults. Why? Because of a certain vibes that was not existing with the oldies. But will be relevant afterwards.

A lot of people get carried away by the beat or hype or technicalities in music and leave or relate the importance of Music to the background. Which makes me tilt towards Oldies than newbies.

  9. But also, the kyrical composition, message and depth of the discipline of these songs are dear to me than any other thing. And so far I can find that in any Golden oldies or nostalgic newbies, I am game. But really there's nothing like the place where it all started. That alone is golden and worth holding unto.
