Friendship

In my never-ending quest for a blog fodder, I have been reading voraciously. In addition, what piqued my interest was the question of friendship,

Friendship in several words to me is affectionate, amiable, easygoing, cheerful, available, faithful, considerate, listener, humorous, forgiving. It can also be said that to be a state of mutual trust and support between two parties but if you have, decided to keep someone as a friend, then you must be ready to take in both good and the bad.

I also see friendship as another type of marriage without the formal contract; or the sex - well depends on the individuals involved. I think it takes conscious effort to stay friends with someone despite all the baggage they toss your way. Friendship goes beyond just sharing time together, and its long lasting if both parties are ready to work at it.

Reminiscing, I remembered travelling miles for a very close friends wedding. We’d been friends for close to ten years now - same college. I’d traveled two days prior to the exact wedding date - Nigerian wedding requires a lot of preparations.

The introduction and traditional wedding went on without a hitch. Perfect ceremony. However; in the wee hours of the morning of the church wedding, we were running late - hairdresser arrived later than expected. And I also found out that if you come late for your wedding, you are expected to pay a fine. And the bride had to be in church a solid thirty minute before the wedding started. So my friend was in quite a hurry, as I trailed her down to the car, still attaching adornments.

After ensuring I was dressed, I decided to give myself a few seconds shut-eye before proceeding down to the church.

Now down to the unfortunate part. The nap turned into a full blown sleep until I was awoken by the slamming of a door that had me bolting from the bed. And found myself staring into the scowling face of my friend. She’d been worried I’d lost my way or been involved in an accident.

The wedding was long over, while I snoozed on the bed ignorant of the persistent ringing of my mobile.

It was a miracle she forgave me. But I guess that is what friendship is all about. Overlooking the shortcoming, for the greater good. To some, it might not seem as an overwhelming sin but still, its quirky.

Readers what do you think? What is your own definition of friendship? And what is the most unforgivable sin you think you might not be able to forgive from a friend?

FYI - forgive so you will be forgiven!!! 70 x 7 !!!!!

A Visit to Lusada

Good Evening Dear Readers

So last Saturday, Guess what? I visited my uncle in Lusada, Ogun state. After all the niceties and warm hugs had been exchanged, I performed the next activity on the agenda. Assuredly raiding their farm.

I came back home, abundantly overflowed with fresh fruits and vegetables.

And what do you do when you have fresh fruits in your barn? You make a bowl of fruit salad every day. And we all know what fresh fruits does to the body. It makes the skin glow and oh so works wonders to the digestive system.

So here is a short clip of my mother and I putting the finishing touches to a bowl of veggie fruit salad.

A great combo of pawpaw, watermelon, carrots, cucumber, pin-apple, spring onions and lettuce.

Tell me what you think.

Beauty Tips: Hair Tricks

How about some tips on hair. Cut short or permitted to grow out; your hair should be treated with utmost care.

Here are simple hair tricks that will make your hair radiant and healthy.

1. Follow hair growth tips from an early age to have healthy hair growth and prevent hair loss in later years.

2. Avoid using hot blow dryers, curling irons and flat irons. They damage your hair.

3. Braiding and twisting braids cut and thins the hair. It also diminishes your hairline. Avoid them.

4. Keep your hair moisturized and healthy. This you can do by getting your hair trimmed every alternate month and limit the heat hair styling.

5. For dry and damaged hair, consider deep-conditioning of your hair once a week. You can use olive oil for this purpose. Warm up 1/4 cup of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash it off with shampoo.

6. Please perform a hair test on the hair relaxer before you use them. Not all hair relaxer is good for your hair.

7. Use condition for your hair ends only. Do not place conditioner directly to your scalp.

8. Hot water damages the hair. Use lukewarm or cool water when washing.

9. Dilute shampoo before washing. Else you end up washing off natural oils from hair; leaving hair coarsely dry.

Five Minutes Breakfast Recipes for Bread Lovers

Good Morning LyfOfAFoodie Lovers,

Happy New Week.

How are you. So sorry I have been away, Light has played a major part, but then I had some other things to attend to.

This morning as a quick suggestion, rather than eating the routine bread, eggs and beverage for your morning breakfast; why don’t you mix and match?

What I mean is that there are literally a lot of other ways in which you can eat that bread and still get to the office in record time.

Here are a couple options for you to try out:

Have you ever tasted Toasted Wheat Bread with a spread of Mashed Avocado, Strawberry Jam and Sweet Cream? The first bite will literally make you hunger for more

Toasted Liver Sausage and Onions Sandwich with a Mustard Spread, usually Eaten with Toasted Bread.

Thinking of juicing it up with fruits? You can spread Peanut Butter and Minced Banana on your Bread. It tastes heavenly.

Here is my favourite: Toasted Bread with Cheese, Tomatoes, Ham and Mayonnaise, a bit of Mustard, Salt and Pepper. As for me, this is a full meal.

Every tried putting Fresh Tomatoes, Cheese on Buttered Toast? Tastes absolutely divine
